I'm Back-

It's been awhile since I have written in Bri's blog about how she is doing and I am going to make sure to update this monthly for her! Wow-she is a thriving 6 year old, in her words "i'm 6 1/2 mom" haha, she is strong, brave, independent, bossy which is absolutely fine with me, and she knows what she wants haha. We had her a Phx Childrens to get her infusions which was absolutely AMAZING!!!! At each infusion she had a private room, child like care, books, movies, and Bri's favorite- the service dogs that would come in and keep her company!! Bri loves dogs, and one lab that came in to visit her was so funny, when the owner said "ok it's time to go visit the other kids" he just laid his head down on Bri and stayed there-he did not want to leave-and from that infusion on, we asked for service dogs at each infusion to see Bri through these long hours:) So to update on her health -she has absolutely no inflamed joints and oh wow, this is great!! I will never ever forget when she was first diagnosed and at 16 months I had to carry her everywhere, she stopped walking and was scooting on her bum around the house instead of walking because her knees hurt so bad, its like a nightmare!!! So moving on, her Uveitis in her eyes is her hold back right now, she's gone from drops of Pred Forte every hour while awake and is now on 3 drops a day in each eye, dialate the eyes each night and Timolol each eye once a night.

So as of now Bri is on Methotrexate which she was taking orally with OJ or apple juice, and we don't think she got the full amount into her system, so we have just switched back to the weekly injections into her legs so she gets the full  amount properly even though its tough. Her first night was tough, 2nd a little easier, and now...I'm hoping she's a pro! She still has Orencia infusions now at her Rheumatologists original location which is an adult facility but due to insurance and PHX childrens complications with billing issues we have no choice-but Bri knows her nurses there and they haven't seen her since she was 3. So they can't believe how big she is and how much she has grown! She's on her 15th Orencia infusion...wow!! She has a slight cataract in her left eye, and we are hoping to get her off the pred forte  drops asap!!   Hugs and Kisses my fighting tiger Bri <3 p="">
